Recycle Your Lights

There are tons of places you can drop off your old Christmas trees to be recycled, but did you know there is also a place to drop your lights? The Kansas City Zoo is accepting all your old unwanted broken or still working lights. They will repurpose them if they can be or get rid of them in an environmentally friendly way. Christmas lights contain recyclable materials like copper, glass, plastic, and lead, and throwing them away can be dangerous for the environment.

They will take your lights until January 15th. Make sure to bring them in a carboard box that can also be recycled.
