Meet Amelia

We are starting a new section here on the 816 Local Newsletter. The shelters are overflowing with pups that need homes. So each week we will be posting one of these sweet pups to help spread the word.

Meet Amelia who is currently waiting for her new home at Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter. Emilia is a very sweet American Staffordshire Terrier mix with an approximate DOB of February 2024. She was found in the cold by a nice lady who has been fostering her. Emilia is very thin and working on gaining some weight. She seems to be housebroken (only had one accident in the house). She loves to cuddle and she is fine with the foster's four-year-old granddaughter. She seems fine with calm cats who are used to dogs. She also seems to do well with other dogs. She is crate trained and sleeps in the crate all night with no accidents. She also does well on learning her leash skills.

Perfect Weekend Getaway from the Northland

Alright - everyone is cold and tired of seeing snow. Or at least I am!! So lets get out of this winter blues funk by planning something to look forward to. Like a weekend getaway to WESTON MO! Weston is a short 25 minutes from the Northland. Downtown Weston has the most quaint main street that feels like its right out of a Hallmark movie. If you choose to spend your weekend up there here are our recommendations:

🏚 Book a stay at the Wild Equine B&B. They have amazing hospitality and are located right in the middle of Main Street https://www.wildequinebnb.com/

🥩 Make sure to grab a meal at the Tin Kitchen for some seriously delicious bbq

🍷🍷 Hydrate with a glass or 2 at the Weston Wine Company. Make sure to ask for their cupcake and wine pairing flight.

New Restaurants Opening - Coopers Hawk
