📌816 Local: Pancakes & Ponies & Easter Bunnies

Pancakes for a good cause, plus all kinds of Easter events for kids

Welcome to 816 Local – It’s April 8th, and instead of spring, we’re getting a weather mix-up. One minute it’s spring, the next it’s winter. Classic KC. The Royals are back (go boys in blue! ⚾), pollen’s in the air, and we’re deciding between flip-flops or fleece. Grab your coffee, take your allergy meds, and let’s dive into this week’s Northland happenings!

Ponies and Pancakes Event

Great Plains Adaptive Riding Academy

🎉 Mark Your Calendar for Pancakes & Ponies! 🐴🥞
Saturday, April 12th, 2025 | 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM
📍 13400 Donahoo Rd, Kansas City, KS 66109

Get ready to saddle up for the sweetest fundraiser of the season! The Great Plains Adaptive Riding Academy is flipping pancakes and bringing out the ponies for a magical morning that’s fun for the whole family!

🌞 Here’s the scoop:
You’re invited to the ranch for a morning of all-you-can-eat pancakes, sizzling sausage, refreshing drinks, and—of course—the chance to hang out with some adorable ponies and horses. Whether you're in it for the syrup or the snuggles, this is a can’t-miss morning out in the fresh country air.

🎟️ Tickets are just:

  • $15 for adults

  • $10 for kids (ages 2–12)

  • And kiddos under 2 eat free!

📸 After breakfast, take a tour of the barn, meet the amazing horses, and snap a pony pic (no rides, but plenty of cuteness to go around). So don’t forget your camera or phone—Instagram-worthy moments await!

Best of all, this event supports an incredible cause: Great Plains Adaptive Riding Academy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides therapeutic horseback riding to children and adults with a wide range of abilities. Your pancakes = their progress. 🐎💖

✨ So round up your crew, bring your appetites, and come support a local gem doing wonderful work in our community. Ponies + pancakes = a perfect Saturday!
