⚾Bluey at the Ballpark + Mothers Day

Celebrate Mother's Day with a fun-filled afternoon at Legends Field as the Kansas City Monarchs take on the Lincoln Saltdogs on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at 1:05 PM. This special "Bluey at the Ballpark" event, presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, offers families the chance to meet the beloved children's character Bluey. Moms attending the game might even receive a flower from a Monarchs player, adding a heartfelt touch to the day's festivities.
💐Floral Corner Northland
Looking for places to find flowers, gifts for your mom or your kid’s teachers? We have put together a list of local Northland places to check in the Northland.
💐White Farmhouse Flowers and Gifts - In downtown Parkville. You can pick up pre-arranged flowers or order. Along with flowers they have chocolates and a gift shop full of unique items to put together the perfect gift.
💐Jean’s Flower’s and Gifts - Smithville. Besides having an awesome Instagram account where you get to see all the behind-the-scenes footage of what it takes to run the cutest flower shop, they also have beautiful arrangements and gifts for valentines.
💐Price Chopper Floral - One of my personal favorite places to get flowers. Very reasonably priced and great quality beautiful flowers that last. They have SO MANY ready to go arrangements.
⛔Road Work Ahead ⛔
Hold onto your hard hats, folks, because the Northland is about to become a construction wonderland! 🚧 First up, we’ve got the U.S. Route 169 Bridge Replacement in Clay County. MoDOT is rolling up its sleeves to swap out the northbound bridge over the BNSF Railway. Mark your calendars for the summer of 2026, when the fun begins and lasts for a whopping two years. During this time, northbound U.S. 169 will be taking a little nap, and drivers will be sent on a scenic detour via Route 9 and Interstates 29/35. But fear not, the downtown airport will remain open for all your jet-setting needs! ✈️
Meanwhile, over in Platte County, MoDOT is getting ready to give some TLC to the bridges on Missouri Route 9. Starting in the spring or summer of 2025, these bridges will get a makeover worthy of a reality TV show. The rehab will cover bridges over Northwest Briarcliff Parkway, Riverway Boulevard, and Line Creek, and is expected to wrap up by fall 2025. So, buckle up and enjoy the detour adventures! 🛤️
